Performance and Fuel Efficiency

The CX-30 packs a peppy 186-hp, SKYACTIV®-G 2.5 engine, delivering 186 lb-ft torque @ 4,000 rpm and brisk acceleration. i-ACTIV AWD® with off-road traction assist, a 6-speed automatic transmission and SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS with G-Vectoring Control make for a great driving experience. With an estimated fuel economy of 24 MPG city / 31 MPG highway, the CX-30 provides exceptional performance with nimble handling and good fuel efficiency.

The Seltos has a 2-liter inline 4-cylinder engine under the hood for 147 hp @ 6,200 rpm and 132 lb-ft torque @ 4,500 rpm — enough power to make the wheels turn. For the drivetrain, we have optional all-wheel drive and intelligent variable transmission (IVT). With an estimated 27 MPG city / 31 MPG highway with AWD, the Seltos is a sensible option in terms of fuel efficiency.

Altogether, both the CX-30 and the Seltos are solid performers in most circumstances.

Driver Assist and Safety Features

The Mazda CX-30 has an impressive set of safety features. Standard driver-assistance and safety features include radar cruise control with stop & go, dynamic stability control, smart brake support, lane-keep assist, and blind spot monitoring.

The Kia Seltos also delivers when it comes to safety. The Seltos comes with a driver assist package that includes forward collision avoidance-assist, lane keeping and following technology, collision avoidance assist, and other standard safety features.

Interior and Infotainment

Mazdas are known for their sophisticated interiors, and the CX-30 upholds the reputation. Inside you’ll find a comfortable interior with an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, over 20 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up, and enough room to seat five. The Mazda Connect™ infotainment system features voice command, wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ integrations, an 8-speaker audio system, and everything you need to feel at home behind the wheel.

There is also plenty to like about the Seltos’s interior. With 26.6 cubic feet of cargo space and seating for five, the cabin certainly isn’t cramped. 6-speaker audio, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility, and more add up to a nice enough infotainment setup.

Conclusion

The 2026 Mazda CX-30 exhibits a level of refinement and performance beyond what its price tag suggests. The 2026 Kia Seltos is also a great choice, if a bit underpowered compared to the CX-30. You can’t go wrong with either, but in our opinion, the Mazda CX-30 wins this matchup.
